Nutritional Therapy is a whole life and whole-body approach to wellness. Unlike most other approaches to wellness Nutritional Therapy takes a root cause approach rather than a symptom only approach. When undergoing Nutritional Therapy, we work on 6 foundations and use a bio-individual approach to find what works best for your body using whole food and supplementation while also assessing your environmental factors, sleep, stress and movement. We believe that these foundations are the building blocks for optimal health. There is one more piece to the puzzle though and that is eating a properly-prepared, nutrient-dense, whole food diet. This is essential for the proper functioning of each of the above foundations.
The primary focus of Nutritional Therapy is to nourish the body. By giving the body the nourishment it needs with proper nutrition and improving digestion, the body is able to more fully absorb nutrients thus allowing the cells to receive the nutrients they need. Each body is bio-individual and must be treated as such, there is no one size fits all plan but we all must start in the same place to determine our bio-individual needs.
What is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?
A Functional Nutritional Therapy PractitionerTM (FNTP) is a specialized practitioner certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association, Inc.® trained to evaluate nutritional needs and make dietary and nutritional supplementation recommendations based on each clients needs in order to achieve health and wellness. FNTP’s are not trained to diagnose or treat pathological conditions, injuries, or diseases. Through a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ), food and mood journal, and Functional Clinical Evaluation, we will pinpoint exactly what your body needs so that you can find balance and feel great!
